flying circus music, returns with its second release, this time rocking the deep, extended, dramatic house vibes of radio slaves interpretations of humates love stimulation. the new-berliner matt edwards took his popularity from underground to overground, and right back round again. the world-travelling dj founded his solid, big room production style while his infamous bootleg and remix work was a mainstay of the uk electronic scene. now, with the strength of his rekids label and his unmistakable production approach, he re-works this early classic of german techno/trance élove stimulation into two remarkable slow burning epics. the >full length vox remix< builds from very opening bars, carefully combining classic house sensibilities with a totally free and organic, long flowing arrangement. at over 15 minutes, its a heavy weight tool for those late, hedonistic hours! carrying on the blissed out theme, weare also treated to a panorama garage remix, that bears a more raw, jacking house vibe, with its straight up beats and deeply-swung chord stabs. radio slave is a master at keeping things ear-tinglingly stripped, yet still filling the room with power, energy and tension. these two remixes certainly pay their dues to classic days gone by, but they also stand out as superb examples of the modern state of house. judging by this release its still as strong as it ever was!!

after a break from solo production for his own blueprint label, during which he released a well-received album ( the dash ) on the mighty tresor, and a brace of singles as o/v/r (with regis), james ruskin returns to home-ground with a cracking two-tracker. sabre is a classic ruskin production, booming bottom-end and a mind-mangling filtered fx loop swirling around over the top. deceptively simple production that is definitely greater than the sum of its parts, as all good techno should be. on the flipside, massk follows a similar template, with only 5 or 6 parts throughout the whole track, but the subtle changes in arrangement lure the listener in to the deep and dark world of mr ruskin...

autonation s sit on the bass was released on esteemed label r&s , 18 years ago in 1991.. (shit! was it really 18 years ago??)
autonation kindly agreed to a re-release two years ago after a meeting in a pub in ladbroke grove. sit on the bass has been a mainstay of label boss jerome hill s sets since it s release all those years ago and still sounds relevent and rocks crowds today.
autonation is none other than seasoned producer dave campbell who over the years has released a vast body of techno, drum n bass, and ambient music under the aliases kibu, hiryze, xtro, greenback and of course autonation on labels such as rising high, certificate 18, r&s, cue and guy called gerald s juicebox.
its an absolute techno classic, but not one of the obvious ones that get rolled out for every old skool back to the 90 s set.. so get on board and be in the know before everyone gets on it!!
jerome hill steps up for the remix on the b-side utilising some fierce rumbling sub bass and keeping the energy levels on 11 for the dancefloor..
this release has been cut super loud and is the first 2-tracker on don t for just this reason.

weare proud to welcome marc antona as the newest member on the highgrade artist roster. unless youve spent the last few years living under a rock you will most likely already know his name! the french producer has recently put out releases on several hot labels like freak n chic, micro-fibres, sender and mobilee . the opening track, >red faces< instantly proves why marcs sound fits perfectly into the highgrade musical universe: highly energetic and hypnotic, it develops slowly but relentlessly into an irresistible groove. the first track on the flipside >wheel of chance< skillfully picks up this train of thought, throwing some more percussion into the mix, which next to some bleeping synth lines will guarantee effortless intoxication on the dancefloor. hustle< on the b2 grooves on relentlessly as well - with some slick seeded reverse claps and detroit inspired synth stabs. our hats are definitely off to this release, and we look forward to many more from mr. antona!

lifeworld presents the intergalactic techfunk from the minds of glasgows solab. known for their killer releases on 7th sign and various other labels, you know you re in for something good! distant galaxy is a deep and mesmerizing track. killer beats accompanied by a great grooving bassline provide for a tight back bone. topped by erie synth strings and spaced out effects, this track is a real burner. on the flip we have the killer track new life. this track is simply gorgeous. just check the exquisite multi layered sounds and killer percussion. sleazy and slow paced grooves. this is sssoooo good! last but not least solab take things into much housier territory. wide awake is a static paced dancefloor nugget with a deep bassline and atmospheric soundscapes. the filtered synth sound running through out the whole track gives this track a true house feeling. this just cant go wrong!

clone v 2.0 comes with another serie... the clone club series... you guessed it... a series dedicated to release club music in its best form. no better start was possible for this series then this huge track by mina jackson. mina jackson delivers some incredible deep and warm gospel vocals on top of the irresistible groove of mike dunn. a unusual combination that works like crazy. mike dunn did again an amazing job. somehow he always manages to create such a simple but effective groove... and not just the last 4 years... but for more then 20 years... respect!! big summer track!

the second release on the clone loft supreme series... the disco dons of elitechnique with the much sought after munich emotions track (which previously was released as limited test pressing of 100 copies which changed hands for big amounts on ebay and discogs) and double destiny on the flip. munich emotions is an epic disco track full of live instruments, old analogue synths all recorded in their own studio. the flip has the new school-ish disco track called double destiny. a super sweet track that goes somewhere inbetween metro area and putsch 79 but with a more epic arrangement. these guys did a hell of a job!! classic tracks that already got big support!

umeks 1605 music therapy imprint returns with this killer 2 track release from one of the producers of the moment - fergie. he has released a wealth of excellent material over the last 12 months not only on his own excentric music label but also for large imprints such as great stuff and this again hits the spot. both tracks are synth driven peak time performers that will not disappoint.

itÆs been a couple of years since victim last released a full 12, but just like the buses you wait that long and then two come along at once. for victim, the >off piste< 12 follows hot on the heels of their split 12 with jerome hill & dont recordings. in the case of ben pest, they are coming thick and fast at the moment, with a recent release on lukes angers bonus round label, and an upcoming 12 on the seriously deranged panic bridge label. so, all in all a busy few months. as for the tracks, they all share in common a seriously weighty bottom end, and a tendency for crunchy acidic midsàbut that is kinda where the similarities end, as ben takes the opportunity to explore various avenues off the main street of techno. from the stomping acid workout of >zeedonk< to the more electro-influenced beats of >pain n gain< this is a record that covers a fair few bases (basses?), although all with the aim of thrilling a crowd that enjoys their techno on the gnarly side.

it has been quite a while since the last release from jark prongo on the mojuba sublabel, but now we are back with some fresh music from the prolific mr. weisemann. its his a.r.t.less debut and it is very hard to capture the feeling arising from this great music in words. all belongs were it has to be, its like one of those a+ essays in music, there are deep emotions as well as demanding grooves and the balance of subtlety and roughness is just impressing à but please take a listen for yourself!

he s the man of the moment. james nidecker, rising star of the dutch technoscene, is always sure to raise an eyebrow or two. not only his djsets, where the amsterdam based artist is often getting the crowds wild with his dark gothpunklike outfits, but also his recent productions can be called mindblowing. nidecker perfectly knows how to combine his dark vocals with uplifting beats, combining influences from electro and minimal techno. s.t.a.l.k.e.r is the culmination of his talents, a hit record already wandering around the dutch clubscene for a while, now finally released on alexander koning s upstruct imprint.
the aside of this release provides a more than outstanding remix from dave ellesmere. renowned for his collaboration with producer 2000 and one under their name microfunk, but nowadays also reaching international fame under his own guise, ellesmere turns s.t.a.l.k.e.r into an ideal dj tool. with a length close to nine minutes, his mix slowly takes the funk of nidecker s rhythms to an upwinding, more techhouse based floorburner.
the other side of this ep is more about the clubs, with dutch dj producer georgio schultz and alexander koning together transforming s.t.a.l.k.e.r into a housetrack like there s no other. here, the unique vocals of nidecker are combined with more melodic, sometimes crazy sounds, always keeping the original flow of the track alive, but taking the best parts of this clubhit to a next level.

markus wesen and dj khaan from cologne teamed up for a great minimal / tech-house release on tanzbar musik! and no other than the beautiful lady from berlin miss jools (mobilee) delivers a fantastic remix! miss jools is one half of the duo sleeper thief, together with audiofly! she is not only a well known dj figure on the underground scene, but is also the co-founder of clandestino, londons most infamous sunday night affair, often responsible for bringing some of europes most infamous djs to london for the first time to play alongside her.

over the last year a new generation of young and ambitious house producers from frankfurt to mannheim have caused quite a stir. vera heindel is part of the scene in the rhine main area, which is the new centre for innovative and modern house and techno tracks, and peoples house, her first release on cargo edition at the end of 2008 received huge attention from critics and fans alike. this time around vera dishes up four top-notch house tracks for us which demonstrate her unique way of producing - using reduction and funk, the two constants of her music. jump the hump concentrates on two things: a devastastingly simple bassline and a vocal sample which gives the track a lightness and an understatement which you seldomly find in house tracks. miss fitz, veras project partner in mara trax, heads more to the dancefloor with her remix, but without giving up the special character of veras style. the b-side continues to drive with a high dose of funk. a clear organ chord gives ling both playful and elegant moments and with the vocal sample and the easy-going beats it becomes a typical vera- track. the final track on the ep hallimasch is espescially catchy with its melodic and complex style, triggering positive feelings all around

disco tom drops these 2 smoking joints to hot up the party. no info given as to what these are, but the tracks speak for themselves. tom noble is a well respected, and even more well travelled, scholar of boogie, disco, funk, and points in between. he is also co owner of the oft celebrated lotus land record shop and label, and brother to andy noble, of the much hyped kings go forth, a 12 piece modern soul band who releases records on the mr. c record label.

a killer clubby groove from steve marshall û the kind that reminds us of the best indie singles from the late 70s disco years! steve plays alto sax here over a strutting, high stepping rhythm thats got plenty of warm touches û really glowing with a sense of soul thats great, and touched by some female chorus vocals that are very much in a philly mode! the disco mix is great û even more upbeat and extended than the 45 groove. in the country is a great bit of club jazz û smooth and sweet, but still with a snakey flute line in the middle û almost like some lost bobbi humphrey track from her epic years. do what you will is another chorus vocal number û and you are the world features some laidback mellow flute.

nice price deal !!! essential & deep album by the man monoder aka jussi pekka! timeless beauty ! monoder. born in the cold north among industrial warehouses, people wearing only gray and random rabbits crossing the streets. his home town has two-lane streets which were made for the mass movement that never happened. physically close to civilization but mentally light years away. with the economic regression hitting hard, the town is filled with unemployed and old people wandering the streets and trying to find out what went wrong. like zombies of a mental desert. monoder. though the name sounds familiar, he has nothing to do with italodisco or electropop. the music, as the name, is filled with cold, stripped down and hypnotic atmospheres. taking you on a trip filled with hunger, cold breeze, forests and frozen tundra. the studio is on the roof-level of abandoned rubber factory, where disillusioned entrepreneurs try to get their daily bread doing what ever. moist pushing from the sealing and walls. water dripping during the mixdown. someone pulling cargo in the hallway.

robert burians new track orion fulfills this dual attraction. it is danceable, but still has chillout mood. bart claessen accelerates the tempo in his remix and adds more bass, this mix could definitely become a club stormer. viper has a little bit slower mood - but keeps your legs dancing still as hard anyway!!

a little piece of sampledelia from maxmillion dunbar (future times, food for animals) and ari g (manhunter). you know when you scoop a record at some flea because the art looks tight, but it turns out that the shit is wack except for some little beautiful chunk? yea you do. we rescued the good parts from many terrible records that otherwise just would ve collected bad vibes on our floors. dudes trying to bring back something like early daniel wang but mix it with heavy boogie visions (swimmers groove) and all these psuedo-african slow cuts from the 90s that we keep finding (o yea). lifeguards for the vibe.

zombielicious is one of the best dance albums of the decade. when i first heard it i badly wanted to license it for turbo and we almost did. zombie was even into the idea, but the timing was bad, so we decided to put together a turbo-riffic remix pack instead. bad idea compared to getting every incredible moment of that album... but luckily the result is amazing.

maybe there is no such thing as an autobiographic song in electronic dance music but valentino kanzyanis 33 certainly comes as close as it gets. marking the artists 33rd birthday in 2008 – the christs years as one would say in his home country of slovenia – the record was intended as a symbolic milestone in his highly successive career. as an artist who loves being surrounded by a crowd in professional as well as in personal life kanzyani soon began organizing huge birthday parties where he performed together with his friends. the sets were readily released on promo records, which received a lot of attention. finally, kanzyani & tomy declerque took it a step further by canalising the motivating atmosphere of their summer performance into a full-fledged studio release.
